Madeiran Storm Petrel
  (oceanadroma castro)

A small bird, about 8 inches long, mainly dark brown below but with a black back and a clear white patch on the rump, the bill black and short, the tail slightly forked. It nests in holes on Boatswain Bird Island, a single white egg being most likely laid between October and December.
